No money in wallpaper since the cameraphone

An interesting BBC News story shows how quickly a business model can arise and then disappear.

The idea of personalisation being something that people wanted spurned a wave of companies to sell ringtones and wallpapers so that that this new and very personal device could become even more personal.

The next wave of course was that cameraphones meant that people could make the screen very personal without needing other people to create the  pictures for them.

It is a lesson for us all to look out for threats in our businesses, but also to see what oppertunities there are to ride the next wave.

I really hope that prompted memorisation as used in getawayphrases will slowly become a new wave - but I think it will take a while until people understand it usefulness.
